Zipline above the valley and through the trees
Harnessed safely while flying hundreds of meters above the valley, ziplining is an exhilarating experience! Perfect for young and old, and all 4 seasons. Book a tour through Superfly or Ziptrek.

Visit the Blackcomb Glacier ice cave
Ride the glacier chair lift to the showcase T-bar then a 10 min vertical hike up to the top of Blackcomb glacier. Ride down into the bowl, keeping to the far right and you shouldn't miss it. Better yet, hire Kelvin as your guide for the whole day through an AirBnB Experience and he will take you there! *Advanced riders only* (Ice cave is only open certain times in winter).

Hit up the Whistler Bike Park
Rated the #1 bike park in the world, you can't come in summer and not give it a go. Take a lesson if you've never gone downhilling before, but if you're a confident or experienced rider, our favourite flow trails are Crank It Up, B-Line, and A-line. Or for more technical trails try the asian line: B-line to Ninja Cougar, Karate Monkey, Samurai Pizza Cat, Ho Chi Minh, and Family Cross.

Bungee jump
Not for the fainthearted, launch yourself off a bridge suspended over a rushing river below. Whistler Bungee gets you jumping in the summer and winter, and offers a courtesy shuttle there and back.

Can you Escape?
Be locked in one of four themed rooms as you have 45 minutes to use clues, team work and problem solving to get out. Escape! Whistler is suited for 2 to 6 players of all ages. Our favourite rainy day activity.

** These are just a few of our favourites, check out Tourism Whistler for an extensive list of things to do in every season.

THE MAIN VILLAGE // WHISTLER MOUNTAIN
(a 7-15 min walk from The Lookout)

Araxi Restaurant & Oyster Bar

Our personal favourite for fine dining, offering a fusion of Canadian + west coast cuisine using local seasonal produce. Perfect for a date night. Their 5 course off season special is great value (see below for details).

Bar Oso
The little sister of Araxi, this intimate Spanish inspired bar offers incredible cocktails and delicious charcuteries and desserts. Their Oso Sour was voted best cocktail in Whistler.

Basalt Wine & Salumeria
This small restaurant offers casual fine dining with a creative and fresh menu of seasonal and local produce.

Earls Kitchen & Bar
Great for families, friends, big group celebrations, informal dates, or watching the sports, this modern and well appointed yet casual restaurant is another favourite in town.

La Cantina
Easily our fav Mexican in town. This great little rustic spot hosts delicious, quick Mexican staples. Great for takeout. (Located opposite The Green Moustache).

The Green Moustache Organic Cafe
Delicious, nutritious, organic, vegan, gluten and sugar free, whole food meals, smoothies, juices and desserts. A 15 min walk located in the "Marketplace" near the Starbucks and IGA supermarket.

HOT TIP!!: In the slower months (May-June/ Oct-Nov) many restaurants offer 3 - 5 courses at only a fraction of the cost! If visiting in these months call restaurants to see if they're offering these 'shoulder-season specials'

THE UPPER VILLAGE // BLACKCOMB MOUNTAIN
(a 2-5 minute walk from The Lookout)

Portobello
Serving up home-cooked hearty meals for all times of the day. Their maple bacon donut is an absolute must try before they sell out.

Fifi's Bistro
This locally owned cafe easily serves the best brunch menu in town. Dinners are also a win. As are their coffees for the early riser.

The Wildflower
This restaurant in the Fairmont hosts fine dining dinners, but our favourite is the all-you-can-eat buffet breakfast for $35. An amazing feast to have and be fuelled up for the day ahead.

The Mallard Lounge
Also in the Fairmont, this is our go-to for a late night hot chocolate, cocktail, or dessert, as it's an easy few minute walk back up the hill to The Lookout. The often have live music in the evenings.

Handlebar
A fun little bike-inspired bar with lots of rotating beers on tap and German-style food. A watering hole for locals and tourists alike.

ENJOY THE HUGE PRIVATE DECK
As one of the largest decks in the complex, it's perfect for all seasons- enjoy a hot chocolate or cocktail on the adirondack chairs, soak up some rays on the outdoor lounge suite, cook up a feast on the bbq in the summer, or watch the skiers whiz past on the slope beneath in the wintertime.

RELAX IN THE POOL OR A HOT TUB

We really appreciated the way that Heidi & Kelvin hosted us for our stay. They were on top of communications, got us all the info we needed and the property was in great shape with a wonderful welcome basket and everything we could need! The property itself is in a wonderful location and a tremendous value all around! Pool & hot tubs were in great condition, ski in-ski out access is excellent and having the ski rental shop in the lobby was a bonus convenience we hadn’t anticipated. We would highly recommend this property!

Wonderful apartment- light drenched, with excellent amenities and lots of space and beautiful interior design. We loved staying here! The apartment was sparkling clean, with a compact but perfect modern kitchen and gorgeous deck with a great view. Perfect position a short stroll from the busy village of Whistler down below. The hosts were terrific and extremely helpful with suggestions!
You will not be disappointed if you stay here!!!

This lovely condo checked off everything we were wanting in a vacation home. Not only was the view gorgeous from the private deck but the entire condo was clean and spacious. Whistler Village was a quick walk away that provided endless shopping, restaurants, and activities. We can't say enough about how the master bedroom had the most comfortable bed. We managed to catch up on some much needed sleep. The next time we plan another vacation to Whistler, the Lookout Penthouse will be our first and only choice.

What a beautiful apartment! The position at the base of Blackcomb is ideal for exploring the area and enjoying some great restaurants. The apartment itself is spacious and stylish with a HUGE and comfortable bed. We loved our stay and wish we could have stayed for longer.
The icing on the cake was watching two bear cubs wrestling from the balcony - amazing!

This is a fantastic place to stay right on the slopes. We loved boarding in and out of the complex. It's an easy walk to both villages. The apartment itself has to be the best in the complex. The deck is just perfect.
The unit itself is quiet, clean, and very stylish. It is perfect. We had a friend join us for 3 nights and she was very comfortable. I did not want to leave! I will book this place again next season.

Heidi & Kelvin's apartment is outstanding and just gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice. It's cozy and all the little things are well thought of. We had a great time staying here and would come back again. They were quick with responses and local tips. Plus it's fantastic for a ski in ski out vacation right on the Blackcomb mountain! Everything was sparkling clean, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all kinds of glasses, pots and pans. Thanks for hosting us, we had a fantastic time!

The BEST location, phenomenal views right from the balcony. So amazing skiing down the slopes and having a drink at a local restaurant and looking up and seeing the balcony! And, could not have had a cozier and more stylish inside! So comfortable, perfect amenities and Kelvin and Heidi added sweet touches to it to make it feel so personalized and made our trip that much better. Cannot rave enough about how much we loved it. And they gave us chocolate= CHERRY ON TOP.

frequently asked questions

awesome!! we will be in touch asap, but will also send you a unique door code a day or two before you check in. the door code is your access to the suite and common areas (like hot tub, gym, pool) and is ideal as you'll never need to worry about loosing a key or fob while visiting. we also have a house manual upon arrival with lots of info.
in the meantime check out our page on our fav things to do. we also encourage you to familiarise yourself with our listing regarding the carpark, house rules, etc.

i'm booked to come! what happens next?

it sure is ski-in ski-out! while our penthouse (as the name goes) is not on the ground floor (so no you can't ski into the kitchen from the slope) it is directly on the 'merlin's ski run'. put on your boots, walk down the stairs directly outside the front door, and you're right on the ski hill less than 30 seconds later! with uninhibited views of the slope and blackcomb gondola as you sit inside or on the balcony watching skiers and boarders whiz right past, you literally can't get a top floor unit closer to the hill.

is it really ski-in ski-out? how far away from the slopes is the lookout?

vancouver international airport (YVR) is the closest major airport to whistler. here are a few options for getting from yvr to the lookout penthouse:
1- hire a car and drive the 1.5-2hr trip up the sea to sky highway (HWY 99) to whistler.
2- whistler shuttle will take you from the airport directly to the aspens on blackcomb complex
3- catch the canadaline train from the airport into the city to waterfront station. change to the expo line to go to burrard station. prebook to catch an epic rides bus from burrard station to whistler bus terminal. then it's a 15 min walk or 2 min taxi to the lookout.

how do i get to whistler?

as we both come from families of 5, we wanted to be able to offer our place to families with 3 kids. while it is the largest one bedroom apartment in the complex- it still only has one bedroom and one bathroom. most of our guests are couples or small families which suits them perfectly and while it is cozy for 3 kids, they love the opportunity to stay! for groups of 5 adults it is still possible, but be aware of the bed layout and that it will be very snug! the king bedroom also hosts a single pull out bed and in the living area is a double sofa bed.

i notice it can sleep five! what are the bed arrangements and how realistic is hosting 5 guests?

the lookout is located in the benchlands neighbourhood, which is an easy 2 minute walk down the hill to the upper village (or a 30 second ski down to the blackcomb gondola).
the main whistler village is a 7-15 min stroll along a gorgeous, well lit paved valley trail. while the main village has lots of shops and bars, it can be very busy and loud, especially at night, whereas the upper village (where the lookout is) still has shops and eateries, but as our guests know and love- it is perfect for getting a quiet nights sleep!

how close in the lookout to everything?

THE UPPER VILLAGE market is a 5 min walk NEXT TO THE FAIRMONT hotel (ASK A BELLBOY TO POINT YOU THE WAY) WHICH HAS BASIC SUPPLIES and yes they do deliver. otherwise IGA or nesters market are the nearest larger stores, but you may want a car or to catch a taxi if you have a lot of items.
for 19+ the closest blackcomb liqour store ALSO OPPOSITE THE FAIRMONT is a 5 min walk away.
marketplace shopping centre (a 15 min walk away) hosts the iga supermarket, but also has a post office, liquor store, pharmacy and bank.

where can i get groceries or other supplies? and do they deliver?

as much as we love pets too, unfortunately you'll need to keep your furry friends at home. we want to offer a space that is clean, fresh and suitable for those who are hypoallergenic or who have allergies to animals. it's also a rule at the complex that no guests or visitors can bring pets. For these reasons we have a strict no pet (and no smoking) policy- sorry, not even on the balcony.

can i bring my dog/ cat/ pet bird?

can't wait to come and stay with us in the mountains?

let's book the lookout!
